Frugal House

Coming June 2014

The Symphony’s unique and fun event: an entire home is decorated with giveaways, DIY’s and other inexpensive treasures. The event includes self-guided home tours and the opportunity to purchase some amazing items. It all kicks off with a party. Ticket prices will vary. Sponsorships start at $99 (Frugal Friend). Also available are room sponsorships at $1,000 and a $5,000 Event Sponsorship.

This event raises more money for North State Symphony than anything we've ever done! The scrolling list shows the many businesses which supported the event in 2012 by donating goods and services. Too many to list are the wonderful individuals who donated, toured the home, bought items and ENJOYED the fun!

Enjoy an evening with friends: NSS musicians, Kyle Pickett, and the greatest folks in town, our audience members and supporters. Kyle will speak about the orchestra season which begins just a week later, which will be his final season with the North State Symphony.

The annual Prelude Party is the traditional start to symphony seasons in Chico, and a fine way to learn more about the Symphony and the Guild, which especially welcomes possible new members to the Party.

Helga Ruge's Benefit Garden Party

Young Artist Auditions

Free and open to the public

Each year, young classical musicians from the North State area compete in high school and university divisions of auditions sponsored by the Chico Guild and Redding League on behalf of the North State Symphony. First prize winner in each division wins the opportunity to solo with North State Symphony.

Musical Chairs, A Party (and auction)

Creative individuals in Chico have created a new art form: "the chair as art!" Transforming everyday chairs into unique and beautiful objects -- many of which you can still sit on! Completed chairs will be auctioned at "Musical Chairs: A Party" to benefit the North State Symphony.

$20 cost includes refreshments

Arts Patrons are invited to support the North State Symphony and the chair-artists through a $250 sponsorship for each chair. Sponsors may elect to sponsor a preferred artist. Sponsorships cover artists’ costs.
