Frugal House Is Back! June 6, 7, 8
20 Abbott Circle, Chico
part of Epick Homes' The Orchard development
Epick Homes kindly donated the use of a brand new home at 20 Abbott Circle in north Chico, and dedicated and talented folks have been decorating it with donated items and imaginatively refurbished treasures. We are still taking small item donations (not big furniture). Call NSS 898-5984 for details.
Thursday, June 6
As in years past, the event kicks off with a great party on June 6, from 6 to 8 pm at the Frugal House. This year we’ll have an assortment of fantastic finger foods from some of Chico’s favorite vendors, including:
- Mini-Tacos (variety of fillings) -- Tacos El Pinolero
- BBQ of Jerk Chicken, Grilled Pineapple, and Grilled Vegetables - NorCal Catering
- Summer Rolls - House of Bamboo
- Homemade Mexican Popsicles & Frozen Chocolate Strawberries - La Flor de Michoacán
Special lively entertainment will be provided at the beginning of the party by Mariachi Mixteco de Chico.
As the sun sets, the mellow vocal harmonies of MaMuse will
set a relaxing tone. MaMuse, which recently won a competition while performing
on Garrison Keillor’s Prairie Home Companion, features original songs in
traditional American styles. Click
here for MaMuse's website. "MaMuse is what a meadow would sound
like if it could sing."
Equally important, party-goers have the first opportunity to purchase items in the Frugal House and frugal boutique. There is also a no-host bar. Party tickets are $35.
Friday and Saturday, June 7 & 8
The Frugal House will remain open on Friday and Saturday, June 7 and 8, and ticket buyers ($15) can wander through on their own, admiring and purchasing.
All purchased items can be picked up on Sunday, June 9 between 11 and 4 pm, when remaining items also get a steep price reduction! No admission is charged on Sunday.
Call 898-6692 if you have something to donate.
